Duels
Duel is a game mode in which players are matched against other human players of similar skill level. Players can opt to play Casual-Duel games or enter Ranked-Duel play, which offers rewards such as ranks and special rewards based on their skill and standing within the community. Duel matches require no entry cost and revolve around a consistent set of playable cards and effects, with rewards given upon the completion of daily quests. Participation in Ranked play also rewards special Ranked rewards.
Casual Duel:
Unranked matches, also known as Casual matches, are a great way to experience Duel mode without worrying about losing rank. This is the perfect mode for testing new decks or levelling up new Adventurers, and is the ideal starting point for playing against human opponents after mastering the basics in Practice mode. As new players tend to do significantly better in Casual due to the differences in matchmaking technology, it is recommended that they stick to Casual until they are confident in their abilities. Casual does not provide the same goal-oriented motivation as Ranked mode. However, players can still earn experience. While Casual mode does not directly reward $AEG Tokens, players can still use it to complete quests and earn rewards.
Ranked Duels:
Ranked is the competitive side of Duel mode, with players competing to gain lucrative rewards and special ranks to reflect their prowess in battle. The Ranked ladder consists of 5 leagues (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond), and a prestigious Immortal rank above all others. Each rank has its own colored medal, number, and picture. The leagues are further divided into five divisions (V-I), with each division having its own unique medal which is upgraded based on numerals. Immortal players are determined solely by their MMR and the population of players, with only the top 100 players able to achieve this rank. Ranked play occurs in seasons, each being 4 to 10 months long, with rewards awarded at the end of each season based on the highest rank achieved. Every season, players have their soft reset based on their previous rank and MMR.
Ranked players are rewarded with various rewards such as unique NFTs and $AEG tokens which are generated in a pool during the entire season. These rewards are based on the highest rank achieved in Ranked. The rewards increase in value as players progress through the leagues, with the top 100 players in the Immortal rank being rewarded with the most valuable rewards. In addition, players can also earn rewards by winning in Ranked mode and reaching a certain rank, providing more incentives for competitive play. These rewards can be exclusive chests, cosmetics, crafting material, and even direct $AEG tokens.
